Chessington, 1 June 2010 – The Channel Islands Co-operative Society Limited has purchased Sostenuto by IT and business service management software provider Sunrise Software.
The Society, whose membership is open to all residents of the Channel Islands, will be implementing the ITSM platform as part of a plan to enhance its control over its IT operations and eventually expand service management to further parts of its business. These are to include its retail operations and facilities department.
Head of IT Mike Guest says: “We were aware of other companies having rolled out Sostenuto to operational areas outside of IT and knew this represented a great opportunity for our business, which encompasses eighteen food shops, from convenience / petrol stores to supermarkets, large department stores, sportswear, travel, funeral services, warehouses and offices across Jersey and Guernsey.”
Sostenuto will first be implemented in the IT department, where the drive is to enhance service to users across the society and provide its management with a firm grip on its IT performance.
“We chose Sostenuto because it offered us a wealth of features”, comments Mike, “providing us with ITIL functionality out of the box, whilst also, importantly, offering us the scope to adapt the software to the Society’s service processes as we go along.”
“There have recently been a number of changes at the Society. Sostenuto represents a giant leap for us in many respects.”
